From providing academic support and arts education to developing re-tooling opportunities for the evolving job market, We are committed to improving access,enhancing competencies, reducing exclusion and inequality. Our initiatives like the CALM Program provide the necessary life and career preparation for the constantly evolving job market while our Academic Support Programs cater to those at the primary and secondary level allowing for improved performance.

PCW remains committed to the preservation of grassroots theatre and Afro Caribbean Folk forms. Through research and training, PCW provides accessible channels – virtual, publications, arts education classes in support of knowledge sharing and building, inter-generational learning in the interest of safeguarding our cultural assets.
At the heart of PCW is the preservation and development of Indigenous Afro Caribbean artforms. We believe in making these artforms accessible to students, researchers, and practitioners. Through video recording, digital archiving, and mandatory inclusion of Afro Caribbean content in our arts education sessions, we aim to protect this invaluable cultural heritage.

In 1999, the Marcus Garvey Resource and Development Centre was established, now known as the Marcus Garvey Institute (MGI). MGI was an evolution of the National Enterprise, Education and Development (NEED) Trust Fund which was established in 1997 with a mission to uplift those on the peripheries of social and economic systems.
The MGI is a hub for social, educational, and technical services, catering to both members and the wider community.

In response to the increasing instances of natural disasters, PCW spearheaded the establishment of the St Michael South East District Emergency Organisation (SMSE-DEO). This unit provides critical support during times of disaster, with a dedicated team skilled in first aid, radio communications, road clearance, damage assessment, shelter support, and community mapping.
Through the Building Resilience in Communities (BRIC) project, we have further strengthened our disaster response capabilities. This includes a fully equipped command center, improved communication systems, and comprehensive training for response teams.

PCW is a development organization with its foundation firmly cemented in culture. The organization continues to use psycho social theatre, afro Caribbean folk dance and music as the tools to bring about community and individual change and development.

Known for over 30 riveting psycho social and multi-media presentations such as Nigger Yard, Wine of Astonishment, Teacher-Teacher, Mirror Image, Out of Nazareth, Dan is De Man in De Van and more.
PCW has brought various traditional artforms to Barbados and onto to local, regional, and international stages.
Birthed on the 14 October 1988, the Cultural Fusion is a collective of Caribbean grassroots performing arts companies, dedicated to cultural retention through the sharing of cultural knowledge and assets.
Utilizing technology by way of the introduction of a Cultural Fusion online platform to house cultural research for easier and wider access to students, cultural practitioners, researchers and society; to facilitate knowledge sharing and safeguarding of cultural assets.
A variety of training materials have been produced including: videos with supporting manuals for the teaching of traditional dance forms; cultural heritage documentaries and publications. These resources and more can be found in the archive section.
